I have an appointment at Costco in 2 days. I hope they don’t cancel us, but have heard that some are being rescheduled.
I just received my first vaccine shot! I am very happy about this.
After trying several places (Costco, Fred Meyer, the Convention Center, and Walgreens) over the past three weeks and several hours on the phone, I finally scored. I’d registered at Walgreens, my choice location, and was initially told they were serving long term care facilities only, and finally called the 211 number and was put on a wait list. When Walgreens emailed on Tuesday, they had a limited supply of vaccine, I went right on line and got appointment for shot #1 on Friday, 2/26, in Canby, and for shot #2, on Friday 3/26 in Wilsonville. Persistence and patience required for success.
We bombed out on the online registering for anything. Then we also finally left a message on 211. We got a call back the next morning and were scheduled at the Convention Center. It was free to park and It was a very well organized and easy process. We were in and out in 1 hour. They have many, many helpers and have the process down to a science. We have friends who had a similar experience at the Airport drive through. That one asks that you have mobility problems so we did not try to get that one. We had no reaction to the shots at all. They schedule you right there before you leave for your second dose. People have told us that we may have more reaction with the second dose. We will find out on March 14th!
Just had my first shot (Moderna). at Costco in WIlsonville. It was a breeze. Both my husband and I had appointments back to back. In and out in 1/2 hour total and filled our grocery cart on the way out. They made our appointments for 3 weeks also – same day and time. Thank you to Lynda Huber Marshall for the lead on Costco. Lucked out scheduling our appointments before they filled up.
Heard today that Costco is also taking appointments specifically for J&J vaccine. I tried the appointment portal, and some locations are taking appointments again. This is the link: https://www.costco.com/covid-vaccine.html . Keep going back and trying new locations if you get a message that says try another clinic. You have to go to the original link again and try another city. I noticed Tigard is open for appointments but not Wilsonville, for example. Happy hunting! Nice thing about Costco. They give you your second appointment, if the vaccine requires it, right when you get your first. 3 weeks out.
So happy I received my second Moderna vaccine last week. Side effects just like with the first shot. About a week of fatigue, nausea, achy everything and generally flu-like symptoms. But the good news is it isn’t the flu, just my immune system adjusting. Forced me to rest more and that’s not a bad thing. Joe and I are so very happy we can now safely visit with our family and friends in our home or theirs again, once they clear their waiting time after their last shot. Hooray!!!
Have had both shots @ Costco. They were fantastic. Fully vaccinated by March 31st! Can’t wait for everyone to get theirs!!!
You have made some really good points there. I checked on the web to find out more about the issue and found most individuals will go along with your views on this site.
